Spring News – Battle for the Banded Rail

Spring’s here and things are humming! This newsletter’s packed with good news — great trapping results and positive signs for our mohu pererū (banded rail) and mātata (fernbird) and how we’re helping support bitterns. It’s very rewarding to see the difference our community’s mahi is making for these special wetland birds.

We’ve also got some gorgeous art by Ginney Deavoll to share, inspired by the birds and wetlands we’re working hard to protect. And if you’re keen to get involved, we’re always looking for more volunteers to join the team.
