The Climate Forum is pleased to announce the programme for our third annual Climate Action Festival, running from 16 – 24 October! This year’s festival is packed with a wide range of events designed to help our community gather and share skills and visions for a more sustainable future.

Festival Highlights

Film Screenings:

  • The festival will launch with the New Zealand premiere of Happen Films’ latest feature, The New Peasants. This intimate portrait follows a family who, for two decades, have chosen to live a radically simple and sustainable life.
  • We also hope to inspire our young people with a screening of Future Council, a compelling film about young people in Europe engaging with corporations to create positive change.

Practical Action & Workshops:

  • Learn how to make our region more sustainable with events focused on going electric, solar power, and waste reduction.
  • Dive into local environmental issues with events on river management and regional food resilience.
  • Get your hands dirty and contribute directly to conservation at a planting working bee organised by Kathryn, in collaboration with the Battle for the Banded Rail project.

The full programme of events is now available on our website. We look forward to seeing you there!
