🌿 Join the MCC to Protect a Rare Native Forest in Stanley Brook!

The Motueka Valley OMB Group has been helping control Old Man’s Beard (OMB) in this special QEII covenant for years — one of the largest remaining areas of lowland native bush in Te Tau Ihu.

This time, we’re teaming up with the Motueka Catchment Collective to host a larger community working bee, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

🛠️ What We’ll Be Doing:

  • Removing new OMB seedlings
  • Cutting back older vines
  • Tackling patches of blackberry

🌳 Why It Matters: This bush is home to rare plants, native birds, and a rich ecosystem worth protecting. It’s a taonga — and your help makes a real difference.

🎁 What’s in It for You:

  • A chance to explore a stunning piece of native bush
  • Possibly a guided tour!
  • Free food and drinks provided by the landowner
  • Great company and a sense of purpose
