Picture
:The Waimea Inlet Forum was created to support the implementation of the Waimea Inlet Management Strategy.  The Forum includes representatives of community conservation groups, businesses and individuals with an interest in the Inlet, Tasman and Nelson Councils, DOC, Fish & Game and Forest & Bird.

The Waimea Inlet Management Strategy aims to make the inlet a  -

“Vibrant place, richly appreciated by the community for its open space, natural and ecological values; happily remembered by generations for their activities, adventures and discoveries; a place where tangata whenua hold mana as kaitiaki of taonga; and a place to be shared with increasing respect.”
The Waimea Inlet Charter is the foundation document of the Waimea Inlet Forum.

The Forum has a Working Group coordinates actions that will help achieve the aims of the strategy.

The Working Group consists of representatives of interested organisations, groups and individuals.

It arranges public meetings to share information about issues affecting the Inlet, makes submissions, plans projects and represents community views in feedback to Councils and other organisations.

MEETINGS
The group meets bi-monthly in Mapua Community Hall, 4.00 – 6.00pm.
The balance of meetings for 2018 will be held on 17 Sept, and 19 Nov.
