WAIMEA INLET FORUM
The Waimea Inlet Forum holds planting and maintenance working bees to restore native plants and ecosystems at a number of locations around Waimea Inlet, including Bell Island, Dominion Creek, Stringer Creek. Has links to Tasman and Nelson councils, statutory agencies, non-statutory groups and organisations, businesses and residents who have an interest in the Waimea Inlet and its sustainable future.
FRIENDS OF THE COBB
Friends of the Cobb is a group of Golden Bay people with a special affinity for the Cobb Valley in Kahurangi National Park who aim to protect the alpine valley’s native plants and animals.
FRIENDS OF FLORA
This group has a collaborative management partnership with DOC - sharing resources and expertise for the ongoing successful management of Flora Stream catchment area in Kahurangi National Park.
BELL ISLAND RESTORATION GROUP
Involved in the restoration of Bell Island Spit.
NELSON BIODIVERSITY FORUM A group of 26 member organisations who work together to identify and align actions to improve Biodiversity in the Nelson area.The Biodiversity Forum operates from three actions plans which can be accessed here.
NELSON ENVIRONMENTAL CENTRE
The NEC aims to inform, build awareness, and to assist our community in making appropriate, practical responses to global environmental challenges, and to support environmental education for all.
ABEL TASMAN BIRDSONG TRUST
The Birdsong Trust works in partnership with DOC, tourism operators and community to protect & enhance biodiversity and improve the visitor experience in Abel Tasman National Park.
BROOK WAIMARAMA SANCTUARY
The Brook Sanctuary is working to create a pest-free wildlife sanctuary close to the Nelson city centre in New Zealand. Integral to the plan is construction of a pest-proof fence to enclose the area, and to eradicate all the pest mammals within it.
PROJECT DE-VINE GOLDEN BAY
Project De-Vine is a non-profit group established to eradicate or progressively control noxious vines throughout Golden Bay.
