​The Tasman Environment Trust is helping mobilise the community to donate and volunteer towards significantly reducing invasive wasp populations in Nelson and Tasman at the region’s favourite recreational and tourism spots. You can read more here.

An elusive wetland bird with distinctive features has been spotted in Mapua for the first time in five years.  Since 2014, members of the Battle for the Banded rail project have been working at several sites in the Waimea Inlet to restore the habitat of the estuarine-dwelling native bird. ​Read more in The Nelson Mail
