The Tasman Environmental Trust administers the Cobb Valley Mitigation Fund. 
In the last three years, grants from the fund have supported the following projects in Golden Bay:

  • Cobb Valley Upper Catchments Predator control to protect blue ducks and other native fauna
  • Puramahoi Valley Wetland Revegetation, Protection and Predator Control Project on the Hack Track
  • Tukurua Enhance native fish habitat in swamp and improve fish passage 
  • Paynes Ford Scenic Reserve Establishment of podocarp forest 
  • Motupipi Hill Restoration planting of scrubland
2012 
  • Takaka Valley: Riparian planting
  • Deep Creek, Ghost Creek, Takaka Headwaters Predator control to protect flora and fauna, especially blue ducks and kiwi
  • Upper Takaka Valley Riparian planting
  • NZKS land adjoining Waikoropupu Springs Riparian planting
  • Motupipi Hill Purchase and manage land for conservation and recreational purposes
  • Eastern Golden Bay (Motupipi/Pohara Hills) Control of pest plants

  • Takaka River Raising seedlings and the planting of riparian strips on farmland 
  • Cobb Valley Predator control to protect blue ducks and kiwi
  • Catchment adjoining Salisbury Lodge on the Tablelands Predator control to protect blue ducks and kiwi

  • Motupipi Hill  Restoration of scrubland
